overview:

embracing the iconic architecture and unique sculpture within chicago, the tower renovation forged historical elements of louis sullivan’s intricate sketches and the chicago school’s building materials of steel and brick with the whimsy of modern sculptures synonymous with the city. these identities solidified the design concept for the omni chicago guestroom and corridor renovation.

676 restaurant & bar, overlooking the magnificent mile from the third floor, received a renovation with a stereograph from 1871 of now north michigan avenue as the backdrop enveloping the design with a visual nod to the hotel’s infamous location while providing updated conversation sanctuaries in tandem with opportunities for social and private dining.

“w+n embraced chicago’s iconic architecture + unique sculptures in creating the design for 676 restaurant and guest suites by literally weaving sullivan-esque motifs in the corridor carpeting and confidently introducing bold contrast, reinforcing relief artwork and geometric forms. The result reinforces the omni brand by infusing the character of chicago within the hotel.”
