built in 1892, the brown palace hotel and spa is part of the distinctive autograph collection.  challenged with respecting heritage yet masterminding a modern day renovation of the guest chambers, waldrop+nichols sensitively introduced classical furnishings on a grand scale to accentuate generous ceiling heights graced with classic crown moulding.   a signature pillow monogrammed with the hotel’s infamous winged griffin adorns the tailored bed inviting respite and reprieve.  conveniences of the modern day are discreetly tucked into headboards or hidden in desks, available to guests as an amenity without compromising historical integrity. paying tribute to the era of afternoon teas and preserving the charm of the hotel, a bar cart ensconced in each guest chamber contains small appliances, maintaining a clutter free desk top for penning a postcard or typing a text!
